What types of materials are available for my Phoenix Kitchen Countertops?

These days there are many different materials available for your new kitchen countertops in your Phoenix home. There are natural stone options, like granite countertops,  marble, travertine, limestone, or soapstone countertops. There are also manufactured stone products available in the Phoenix area, including quartz (Silestone, Caesarstone, Cambria, Viatera, etc), solid surface (Corian, Avonite, HI-MACS, Gibraltar, Livingstone, etc), and recycled countertop products (Eco, Alkemi, Vetrazzo, IceStone, Richlite, Paperstone, etc). Northman Marble & Granite is certified to fabricate and install all of these products thereby offering the widest array of countertop and surfacing choices in Metro Phoenix.

There are so many different brands of quartz, what are the differences between Silestone, Caesarstone & other quartz countertop brands?

Quartz has emerged as one of the most popular surfacing choices today but most consumers have little knowledge about quartz as a product. One of the most frequently asked questions we hear at Northman Marble & Granite is what is the difference between the various quartz brands? In reality, there isn’t much of a difference between “Breton quartzes.”  “Breton quartzes” are quartzes manufactured using patented technology called the Breton process; in addition to sharing the same manufacturing process, they also are all comprised of 93% natural quartz and 7% resin and pigments.  These quartzes all share the same performance and durability and vary only in their price points, color range, slab size, and distribution attributes. Examples of Breton quartzes include,

NORTHMAN MARBLE & GRANITE OFFERS SILESTONE, CAESARSTONE, CAMBRIA, VIATERA, HANSTONE, ZODIAQ, PENTAL, & RADIANZ. WE ALSO SHOWCASE ALL PRODUCTS AT OUR PHOENIX SHOWROOM.

If you purchase a “Breton quartz,” one can be assured that you are purchasing a product with all the performance and durability characteristics associated with high-quality quartz. There are several “off brand quartzes” as well that are not manufactured using the Breton process. Little is known about the exact manufacturing of these brands as well as their exact composition; what we do know is that these brands look and feel like quartz but do not perform as well as traditional “Breton quartzes.”  There price points are lower and these quartzes are generally manufactured in China. Examples of non-breton quartzes include,

  • Q Quartz by MSI
  • Alexanderstone
  • One Quartz by Dal Tile

NORTHMAN MARBLE & GRANITE OFFERS Q QUARTZ AND ONE QUARTZ AND SHOWCASES BOTH PRODUCTS AT OUR PHOENIX SHOWROOM.
